How did you get started?

This is always the question we get asked when people find out what we do for a living.

Our story began back in 1998, almost by accident.

Cathlene was doing a favor for a close friend who had recently married and lived out of town. Her wedding bouquet had been preserved locally and needed to be picked up, so Cathlene volunteered. When she arrived, she learned the woman was retiring and selling her freeze dryer.

At the time, Cathlene was home with our two young children. After thinking it over for a few weeks, she realized this could be the perfect home-based business: something Cathlene could manage while still being there for our family. We put together a business plan, secured a bank loan, and became the proud owners of a commercial freeze dryer.

In the early years, we focused primarily on preserving bridal bouquets. As the business grew, so did demand, especially for our freeze-dried rose petals. Before long, rose petals became even more popular than bouquet preservation, and we needed more space and more help. We eventually moved part of the business out of our home to keep up.

Ten years in, the growth continued. Brian left his parents’ small business to join ours full time, and together we’ve continued building something we’re incredibly proud of.

What started as a simple favor has grown into a family-run business built on care, craftsmanship, and a love for helping customers preserve meaningful moments.
